Outdoor Sport Photography with Pro Triathlete Jenny Fletcher

Recently, I had the oppurtunity to  work  with Jenny Fletcher for a Garmin ad campaign. This would be one of the moments where you think to yourself  ”okay, they say to play the cards that life has dealt you, but how is it some people end up with a royal flush?” Jenny Fletcher is definitely one of those people.  Her life’s course is anything but ordinary. At 15,  she was discovered by Mode Models, an international agency who soon had her flying off to Japan for her first shoot.  Jenny had always been involved in sports so it was natural that some of her modeling assignments took advantage of that ability.  In addition to modeling for the runway and photoshoots, she may look familiar from the Deal Or No Deal game show as one of the briefcase toten’ models. After several years of modeling, Jenny decided to explore a passion that she had held for many years, to be involved in a sport that would allow her to go from an ameteur to a pro athlete status. She had participated in several pentathlon events and tried a triathlon and was hooked.

She and her husband moved to California where she has been training for the past three years at the professional level. The Garmin ad campaign features Jenny with her Forerunner 910XT , which she is an advid user. Garmin, Forerunner, sport photography

Scott Hepler’s Great Outdoor Photography

You know the ol’ saying “A bad day of fishing is still better than a good day at work”, this is the best of both worlds! On a recent campaign for Garmin International, I photographed  Scott Martin doing what he does best; finessing the line to catch yet another hog.

Outdoor photography stirs the soul and provides such inspiration for me. Preproduction for such shoots requires anticipating the unexpected and at the same time, unlimited opportunites. Okay…..so I’m like a kid in a candy store when I’m involved in outdoor/sport/fishing/hunting photoshoots, notice I didn’t say work, cause it’s all GOOD to me!

Three-fourths of the Earth’s surface is water, and one-fourth is land.  It is quite clear that the good Lord intended us to spend triple the amount of time fishing as taking care of the lawn.~Chuck Clark
